Buick Announces Upcoming Buick Enclave Reveal

Buick Enclave Reveal | St. Louis, MOAs it turns out, Buick’s Avista Concept – which showed up on Detroit stages at the North American International Auto Show last year – is a tough act to follow. The brand didn’t even bother, keeping relatively quiet throughout the fanfare of the Detroit auto show’s usual exciting reveals and previews. However, Buick representatives did tide fans of the brand over with some news; the Buick Enclave reveal is coming soon, so sit tight.

According to the Buick reps who made an appearance in Detroit, the new Enclave will be showing up in dealer showrooms across the country before the end of 2017. This next-generation model will be built in General Motors’ Lansing, Michigan plant alongside the Chevy Traverse and an all-new full-size crossover from Cadillac. Though info on the Buick Enclave is scarce at the moment, experts are looking to the 2018 Traverse for what to expect – including features like Apple CarPlay, a more spacious interior, and more trim levels.

Other features expected to be unveiled in the Buick Enclave reveal are a variety of brand new engine options, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and the ability for consumers to opt for either front- or all-wheel drive. There will likely also be more available technology features for drivers to choose from for their entertainment and convenience.

Good Test Drive Tips for Beginners

Helpful Test Drive Tips
Helpful Test Drive Tips

Looking to buy a used car? Whether you’re looking at a pre-owned vehicle on a dealer’s lot or being sold by a private party, it’s important to take your potential new car for a spin before buying it. Here are some test drive tips to help ensure that you’re getting a quality car before you buy it.

First, before even getting into the car, take some time to inspect it. Are the tires worn? Is there a fluid leak? Make a point to open and close all doors, including the trunk, and make sure all of them lock and unlock. Check for rust along the doors or under the carpet. After turning on the engine, open the hood and listen for any unusual noises, and get behind the steering wheel to ensure all the accessories and buttons work properly.

When you are actually driving the vehicle, make a point to take it on a nearby highway or other road with a speed limit above 60 mph in order to observe whether it vibrates or shakes at higher speeds. The steering wheel should not shake or pull to one side. Check for smooth shifting, strange noises, and make sure the brakes are responsive and quick.

Keeping these test drive tips in mind when you go shopping for a used car can prevent you from buying a fixer-upper that’ll end up being more trouble than it’s worth. A quality vehicle can come at a great, affordable price without any problems.

Easy Car Loan Mistakes to Avoid

Avoid these common car loan mistakes.
Avoid these common car loan mistakes.

Financing a car is hard. The process of budgeting, selecting the best vehicle for the money, deciding on a good down payment amount, applying for a loan, and more is an undertaking that can intimidate even the most seasoned car buyer. However, you may have made some car loan mistakes that could be costing you money in the long run.

The first mistake that many buyers make is focusing too hard on negotiating monthly payments, as opposed to the overall cost of the car. Although it is good to know what you can afford each month.

You should also know your credit score ahead of time. Additionally, do your homework before accepting a cash rebate or a low interest rate loan; it’s important to know what’s better for you, not just what may sound better.

Car buyers should also avoid rolling negative equity forward. If you still owe on a past car, don’t get into the practice of including that in the purchase price of the new car. Last of all, you shouldn’t finance add-ons that you can just purchase separately. It’s good to get into the habit of just saying “no.”

By being aware of these common car loan mistakes, you can save yourself quite a bit of money on a car loan and prevent yourself from getting into debt.

What Type of Car Do You Need?: How to Determine the Right Car for You

Buying a new car is an overwhelming process for many reasons, but one of the most prominent reasons is deciding which type of car is right for you. There are a number of body styles to choose from, including a coupe, convertible, sedan, hatchback, station wagon, minivan, or crossover/SUV. The options are endless. To make the decision easier for you, though, here is a quick overview of vehicle body styles to help you figure out how to determine the right car for you.

Coupe/Convertible: Coupes and convertibles are the ultimate statement cars. If you are looking for a vehicle that will catch the eye of other drivers, then this is the body style for you. It isn’t the most practical car with limited access to the back seat and less cargo storage than more traditional vehicles. For a single individual looking to stand out, though, these body styles are perfect.

Sedan: Sedans put the “tradition” in “traditional.” If you have children, then sedans are typically the right choice. This body style is also great for those younger car buyers who want a reliable, yet spacious everyday vehicle for their commute. As more car brands offer sleeker and sexier sedan styles, the options for this type of vehicle are endless.

Hatchback: Get SUV-like space without eating up gas with the hatchback. This type of vehicle tends to be spunky and looks fresher than typical sedans. There are plenty of hatchbacks to choose from, and these vehicles are quickly becoming the new favorite in the American car market. Hatchbacks are especially perfect for individuals who like to stand out a bit, but still need to be sensible about space.

Station Wagon: Station wagons offer the perfect combination of cargo space, passenger space, and fuel efficiency without being a large, clunky size. This makes them perfect for those consumers that have a family and need a practical vehicle, but don’t want something that is difficult to park.

Minivan: Minivans are the quintessential family car. Those individuals who have large or growing families should definitely consider getting a minivan. They typically can haul five or more passengers comfortably, while still having plenty of cargo space. The minivan segment is growing, too, offering consumers more stylish options than ever before.

Crossover/SUV: Crossovers and SUVs tend to be the jack of all trades in the automotive industry. These large vehicles have plenty of space—both for passengers and cargo—while still giving off a stylish vibe that is difficult to ignore. Many are even becoming more fuel-efficient, which make them that much more appealing. If you are a car owner who needs plenty of space and enjoys towing regularly, then this type of vehicle is the right choice for you.

These body style overviews are sure to help you figure out how to determine the right vehicle for you and your needs. There are a variety of body styles out there, so keep these descriptions in mind as you begin looking for your new car.
